Ballet Instructor

Amanda’s love of dance began at the tender age of 2, and hasn’t eased up since! She felt at home in the studio and remembers vividly as a child dancing anywhere and everywhere possible where there was space to move. Her passion began and always will be with ballet, but shortly after incorporated jazz, lyrical, tap, and acrobatics.

While living in the mountains of North Carolina, Amanda felt an urge to branch out to other dance styles. It is there she found her love for Samba, Afro Brazilian. During her time there she began to teach children’s ballet classes and knew she had found a niche ~ to share the joy of movement. Amanda’s love for all types of music comes out during her classes, that are rich with culture and fun!

BECK PAFFRATH

NIA Instructor

Beck is a certified Nia Blue belt instructor and has trained and danced with internationally known trainers and mentors from Seattle to New York to Santa Fe. Her Love of dance and movement began as a child. Raised with a diverse foundation in music, theatre and the arts, Beck found the beauty of dance captivating and inspiring. Music and movement have stayed a constant throughout her life from folk dancing, rousing competitive disco of the 1970’s and 1980’s to a regular and full schedule of Swing, Salsa, Lindy and tap dancing as well as being a multi instrument musician. Finding Nia, a somatic dance and life practice, in 2012 was a turning point in moving from dancer to movement educator. The Nia practice has deeply transformed her in mind, body and spirit and finds her dancing through all of life seeking joy and finding life as art.

GABRIELLA MINGOIA

YOGA Instructor

This Hatha Yoga is a gentle flow of fundamental yoga asanas integrated with breath. An emphasis on mindful movement as the flow progresses. A dynamic class that will cultivate strength, flexibility, and balance. Class is intended for all levels.Gabriella Mingoia developed her yoga practice while she was pursuing her B.F.A. in acting as a tool to remain present and connected on stage. Gabriella now works in arts education/adminstration and finds that yoga honors the same qualities as the arts: community, connection, and vulnerability. Gabriella’s classes emphasize the practice of Ahimsa (non-harming) as an opportunity to create space in the body, compassion for the self and others, and fun!

  • Completed 200-hr RYT from Namaste Yoga + Wellness in Berkeley, CA in Hatha yoga
  • Studied under Ashley Sharp, Vickie Russell Bell, Baxter Bell, Nubia Teixeira and Domonick Wegesin

ILEANA CHAMPLAIN

DANCE, YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Ileana’s work in the health & fitness field began as a teenager, teaching Cardio dance classes in women’s gyms. In 1990 she discovered yoga and meditation and instantly was hooked. She learned Asanas while living in an ashram in Nevada City. Ileana also lived in India for a year studying the many aspects of yoga, from the physical, to the mental, to the metaphysical. While at Poonjaji’s ashram in Lucknow she was introduced to Advaita and the lineage of Ramana Maharshi. Her yoga classes are a blend of all she has learned and continues to learn on her path as a yogini. She blends compassion (kripalu), heart opening (Anusara), oneness (Advaita), and union (tantra), into all of her teachings.

JULIE MARQUES

DANCE, PILATES INSTRUCTOR, m2C FOUNDER

Julie has taught dance and movement for over 15 years. As a child and teen she studied Ballet, Modern and Jazz dance. At 17 she studied Aikido, drawn to the inner world of Martial Arts and Gi Gong. She lived in Nepal studying Nepalese Classical dance for two years and in India for one year. She spent an additional year with Sri Vishnu Lakpati learning Odissi dance basics. Julie was inspired to train in Pilates by Mercy Sidbery and later became fully certified in Stott Pilates. She has over thirty years of training in movement and ten as a Pilates instructor.
Julie works deeply with body connections and these mean for every day life. She facilitates somatic explorations while guiding people toward concrete physical goals. Her passion is to bring movement to minority and low income families.

She co ran Kathmandu Centre of healing in Nepal, created Healing Traditions in SF, Core In Motion in Sebastopol and move 2 Change. She has directed and choreographed for Amrita Dance Co, Lila Devi Teen Dance and numerous dance schools for over 15 years.

TERESA MOORE

Dance, Barre, Fitness Instructor

As TequilaMargaritAmor, Teresa is founder and choreographer Of Mound of Venus Burlesque. She has performed, choreographed and instructed Jazz, and Musical Theatre, Burlesque, Pole and Circus arts, up and down the west coast.
She teaches classes in pole fitness, ballet, barre, burlesque, jazz dance, body sculpt, flexibility, pilates, gymnastics, weight training, and yoga to name a few. In addition Teresa has developed her own fitness routine combining the lengthening and flexibility that comes from ballet and Yoga with the strength training of Pilates incorporating weights into a total body workout.
She loves teaching, especially for the benefits of being fit, flexible and strong, for the power and joy it adds to everyday life.
Teresa is also an accomplished painter.

Tirza Dawn

Arial Yoga Play Instructor

Tirza Dawn is co-founder of both the Ayurveda Yoga Teacher Training and the Body Temple Yoga programs at the dhyana Center. She is sometimes found teaching relaxing yoga retreats on the shores of Baja and Hawaii. With 25 years experience practicing and teaching yoga, she offers in depth instruction from many styles and perspectives, including Iyengar, Tri Yoga and Vinyasa. Most recently, Tirza has fallen in love with Aerial Yoga Play. After years of teaching yoga on the mat, she is now finding new ways to stretch and “lighten up” through Aerial Yoga Play. Through asana, satya, and pranayama, her teaching focuses on the mind/body connection and finding pathways to self love and the devotional heart.

WATTA RIBAS

Pilates Instructor

Watta teaches a classical form of the Pilates technique, staying true to Joseph Pilates’ original method. Watta was rigorously trained to deal with a variety of health conditions and individual needs by Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ protege. With a background in modern dance and years of teaching experience, Watta can provide an individualized workout plan for anyone interested in becoming stronger, preventing injuries, and feeling better in their body, from the professional athlete to the senior citizen.
